Being present is just not my thing. I mean what if that was the case? What if it’s just not something I’m good at?!
Do you ever feel like this? Like something just isn’t your thing? What if it’s something you know is “good” for you? Then what? Do I have a responsibility to make things my thing if they’re good for me?
I’m gonna take something super small and basic yet just as majorly -if not more- important than many things.
Wear Your Seat Belt
Wearing seat belts. Wait a minute don’t get all crazy on me, yet. I wear my seat belt- it’s so one of my things! But what if it wasn’t? Statistics show that seat belts SAVE lives. Period. So maybe it’s our job to make it our thing?
The Language “Thing”
I’m hoping you’ve heard this before and if not I’m glad you’re here. While in some ways it’s not all that revolutionary in some ways it is. We create our realities. I’m not saying that right now in this moment you have control over all the things necessarily….butttttt……

Research shows that we can limit ourselves by the way we think, act, and speak about ourselves. Who knew? Well knowing is definitely half the battle.
The Other Half
The other half of the battle is changing the way we think and speak about ourselves and changing our mindset can make us be the kind of person who…WHATEVER we want.
So what is it that you’ve been saying is just not your thing, but maybe you really wish it was? How can you change it.
Being present is something I so want more of in my life and desire it and while I was kind of joking that it’s not my thing, it’s hard for me sometimes. Even that language though can limit me.
