I find joy much easier when I’m with the people I love. There is something about being with others, sharing laughs, stories, and just time, that puts me in my happy place. Maybe it’s my extroverted tendencies or the fact that I am the youngest of eight. I am happier when I’m in a group. Other people bring me joy, my friends, my family, funny people, kind people, smart people, new people, not so new people, it’s just the fact. What brings you joy? Can you name it?
Make it a priority
Now, find a way to make this a part of your life MORE OFTEN. If something that brings you joy is something you haven’t done in weeks, months, or worse years, it’s time. Bite the bullet and start doing it. I’ve noticed that with the laundry list of responsibilities that adulthood has so kindly placed on me, it’s easy to forget about the whole point of this wild ride to enJOY it!
I entitled this post with the word “infuse,” for three reasons. First, because I think that the word infuse is an underrated and underused word. Second, because the definition of infuse (v.) is to cause (person or thing) to be filled with a something (such as a quality.) And I am loving fruit infused water!
The whole point of this blogging series is to take a look at our lives and see where we stand with ourselves. What is it we are yearning to do that we aren’t? What are we doing that we’d rather not be? It’s so easy for me to forget to take the time to reflect, to connect, and to find joy. I get too busy making dinner and worrying about all the other stuff. I hope whatever you’re doing today you are filled with joy!
