I LOVE music… Like really truly love music. The Longer I Run by Peter Bradley Adams is one of my favorites and I’m pretty sure it’s because so much of it just speaks to me.
This song is about wondering and looking, searching and hoping to find. I feel like we can all relate to that. “The longer I run then the less that I find.” Yes. The running is something that I can totally relate to. It’s the idea that whatever it is I need or desire, God will somehow provide for me at the next mile marker.
The truth, however, is that’s not how it works at all. We find ourselves when we stop looking outside. Our relationships get stronger when we let go of pretenses and allow the love and compassion that got the whole thing started to be the MOST IMPORTANT thing.
If you’ve ever had a good day, or if you have ever had a moment where you felt like you were RIGHT where you were supposed to be and you were filled with gratitude for your blessings then you know that those moments are where you’re most alive, most at peace, most comfortable, and least likely to even think about the need to run.
What if I told you that prayer and reflection could do that for you daily? What if I told you that the love and acceptance you seek in your life is already there waiting for you to receive it? It is. It’s already there. Sometimes we just need to step away and take a moment to notice and learn the tools to cultivate this in our lives.
