I really cannot believe it!!!! The holiday season is really upon us. I’m excited but cannot believe it’s all coming so quickly. If you’re anything like me the holidays basically just up the ante on the perfectionism game. It’s going to perfect. It has to be perfect. Except when it’s not because what is perfect (and I like to tell myself that perfect is boring, just to make me feel better!)
This year I’m trying to keep my cool, to manage my expectations, and to really focus on what matters. This last one really gets me every time basically because if you look at my to-do lists, my thoughts and plans for the holiday, essentially none of it is what REALLY MATTERS. All the crap that gets me stressed out and worried DOESN’T MATTER anyway. How is that for freeing!
Don’t get me wrong I don’t spend the holidays in a misery every year, I actually usually enjoy the holiday season (the season particularly because there is less pressure than on the days themselves.) It’s just that the pressure I put on myself can really detract from the fun. Don’t even get me started on the lack of rest and time for me!
I’m going to be running an event in Ardmore, PA on December 9th from 7-9. I am offering you 2 hours of holiday bliss with other moms who need a break, too!
For most of us who’ve become parents in recent years, the holiday season can be a bit of a burden. There are so many items on our to-do lists, a finite amount of time and money, and multiple personalities at play (I’m not going to project here, but you may have one or more of these people living with you: disheveled dad, meltdown mom, tantrum toddler, and/or pouty preschooler).
The Holiday Re[Fresh] will provide you with time to take a breather, [re]fresh, and enjoy. Your faith in the holidays will be restored.
You will also have time to open yourself and share with other women so you can develop a plan to ensure that this holiday season you feel the way you want, enjoy the time with your family, and learn the tools necessary to do it all.
