Some days I’m just feeling down. Maybe it’s because one of my children has been sick and waking at all hours of the night, maybe it’s because the weather is dreary and dark and rainy, or it could be a number of totally random things that just sets me back. In those times i think to myself I need to get it together. I need to smile. It’s super important to have some tools in my pocket for these times, and guess what I do….
I know you may be thinking this one takes too long, but I like to have a good book around that I can read really short excerpts from and get great insight. Or just a read a page or two if you can stop yourself to take a minute in someone else’s life is sometimes all we need to give us the perspective we need!
Okay my husband is going to call my bluff on this one (that is if he reads this :)) I must say I’m not a huge snuggler, except with my kids. I’m a sucker for a good hug from these guys, look at them! And also this picture makes me die. It’s so funny. I am serious though I do think human touch is so important and sometimes all we need is a quick hug or cuddle to snap us back into our loving, less cranky selves. So give it a try.
I feel like I use this tip for a lot of things and the reason is…it’s AMAZING. I feel like I spend a lot of my days confined. Whether it be in my house or my car or whatever building, I feel like I’m indoors a lot. When I get a chance to be outside it ALWAYS brightens my mood. I feel lighter, freer, and happier and the best part is it’s generally pretty quickly. No need to spend hours and hours on camping trips and hikes (though I wouldn’t mind that, either) just a few minutes will make you smile!
