It’s here. The time of year that people everywhere sharpen their pencils, get snazzy new haircuts, take some cute “back to school” pics, and parents are
shoving sending their kids into classrooms to learn and grow!
It’s all new for me this year. I’m realizing something. It’s always all new. Once you think you’ve got it ALL. FIGURED. OUT. Something new comes up perhaps its a new job, a new plan, you get married or enter into a new relationship, you have another baby, your kids are getting older, and the list goes on FOREVER.
Stuff is always changing. This is great, if you’re into that sort of thing, but if you get a little stuck or nervous or maybe you just like the fact that you knew how pick up worked or how to get into your old locker (there was nothing worse then forgetting your combo. I mean seriously 5 minutes between classes didn’t allow for it ;). ) Then join the club. Because I’m right there with you.
The funny thing for me is this. All the newness gets me a little fidgety. I start to question was this the best plan. Should I have checked that school out. Are 2 days of nursery school enough? (BTW the answer there is a resounding NO but sometimes we just gotta deal with it.) At the same time that I get a little uncomfortable and unsure. I get super excited because as much as figuring out new schedules is exhausting the possibilities that lie ahead are where the fun exists. Beginnings rock because what will come of them only time and patience will tell. And that I can get on board with. Plus Fall weather is basically a miracle in and of itself. So there.
Whether you’re a teacher, a student, a parent who sends their kids to school, or someone whose commute just increased a good 30 minutes a day because of school buses we all know it’s back to school time. And at the end of the day we can look forward to tomorrow because its all new. ALWAYS. And you never know what’s waiting for you at the next stop.
