Every once in awhile you get a moment that feels perfect. I’m talking those moments when you think to yourself, YESSSSS! YES this is what it’s all about. Right now I’m having one of those moments, I’m sitting in my backyard with a cold beer, I just put my 1 year old to sleep and my 3 year old sits beside me playing in his water table like I’ve never seen him play before with figurines and talking and making up games….It’s quite funny actually to see his imagination take over. Chris (that guy I’m married to) is planting the new hydrangea and gardenia bushes I bought- that I pray we don’t inevitably kill. And I’m sitting here writing. It’s once in awhile right now. It’s absolutely perfect right here in this moment. So I’m trying to drink it in.
Because it will only be a matter of moments before this has changed and we’ll be
arguing with telling Vincent that it is almost bedtime and time to go in. It will only be a matter of time before Chris is done and has to go in and shower and inevitably it will all shift. I still have a dessert to make for tomorrow’s bbq- and I don’t feel like it. Those really nice bushes he’s planting- well we are taking a chance…
But none of that matters RIGHT NOW. Because right now it’s perfect. These moments are more frequent then I notice but they are so fleeting that if I’m not present (which I’m often guilty of struggling with. Then I totally miss them. What about you? Do you feel like you live in the moment enough that when your “every once in awhile” comes you can enjoy it?
